DR. HEATHER PEDERSEN

Heather grew up on a small farm in Pemberton, BC, where she kept Nubian goats and chickens for 4H projects. Heather began her career in the veterinary field as a veterinary technician. She graduated from the Animal Health Technology Program at TRU in Kamloops, BC and worked in that capacity in Equine Neonatal Medicine in both Kentucky and New Zealand. Heather ventured forward by choosing to become a veterinarian and graduated from Massey University in New Zealand in 2012. From there she completed a fellowship in Equine Internal Medicine at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Lexington Kentucky followed by an Equine Internship in Edmonton, Alberta. Heather has a special interest in Equine Internal Medicine and Neonatology but is always willing to take on other species of livestock when presented to her with any problems. In her leisure time Heather enjoys riding, mountain biking, skiing and camping with her husband. Doctor Pedersen is currently on maternity leave until August 2023.
