Kamloops Large Animal Veterinary Clinic does almost entirely livestock medicine but every Wednesday, operates a satellite clinic in Clearwater known as the Wells Gray Veterinary Clinic. This clinic addresses the needs of owners of companion animals. This clinic is located on Camp 2 Road in Clearwater and has been operating one day a week for more than 28 years.

The clinic is open from 8:30am with appointments starting at 9:00am and running until 1:00pm. Dr.Susan McGillivray has been the regular companion animal veterinarian at the Wells Gray Veterinarian Clinic for the past 12 years and continues to fill that role. The large animal veterinarians rotate the trips to the clinic to do the spay and neuter surgeries and to look after any large animal calls that have been organized. It is always a busy day. The clinic has one regular receptionist (Lori Witts) as well as two technical staff who travel from Kamloops to work the day.

The appointments for the Wells Gray Clinic are booked through the Kamloops Large Animal Veterinary Clinic in Kamloops. The Wells Gray Clinic does not currently have X-ray capabilities nor do we tackle more complicated surgeries or dental procedures for companion animals, these being referred to our sister clinic Kamloops Veterinary Clinic in Kamloops. It is possible that in the future the Wells Gray Veterinary Clinic may expand but this idea is wholly dependent on demand.
